ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Two more suspects allegedly behind a home invasion in Rock Hill are in police custody.

York County deputies arrested and charged 32-year-old Wolfgang Liewald and 21-year-old Kaylan Whiteside with attempted murder and first-degree burglary. They were found in Union County, S.C. Ben Patrick Smith, 41, was arrested Tuesday in York County and faces the same charges.

Police say a former Marine, Wayne Whiteside, was shot at his home on Gentry Lane Saturday. He is still being treated at the hospital. The bullet injured his pancreas, liver and kidney.

The sheriff's office confirms Kaylan is the victim's granddaughter. Her mug shot is not yet available.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspect cut power to the house before breaking into the residence. Whiteside's late wife's wedding ring was taken, along with other jewelry and medication.

Further charges may be pending.
