MINT HILL, N.C. -- An ongoing drug investigation involving multiple agencies resulted in four arrests.

Detectives with the Mint Hill Police Department said illicit narcotics were their target. They served a warrant in the 5600 block of Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road on Thursday.

Donald Maechtle, Kent Hayes, Jose Joel-Paredes Sanchez and Alex Rafael Reyes face several charges. The alleged crimes included trafficking and selling heroin, and selling heroin within 1,000 feet of a school.

Police say they seized 132 grams of black tar heroin and 102 grams of brown powder heroin, with a total street value of $23,500. Detectives also confiscated two vehicles and about $1,400.

The Matthews Police Department, SBI, Pineville Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations assisted Mint Hill Police.
