CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A massive tree split in two Friday afternoon, landing on a home in east Charlotte.

Neighbors on Linda Lakes Drive say they heard an incredibly load cracking noise and came out to find the destruction.

Thankfully the tree didn't go that far into the home and no one was hurt. Insurance agents are working with the homeowner.

It's not yet clear what caused the tree to fall.

Meanwhile, in northwest Charlotte, another fallen tree did some damage to a home on Tate Street. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.
