LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- Authorities in Lincoln County are investigating the theft of batteries from vehicles in the western part of the county.
The thefts have occurred from July 25 through August 3 on Reeps Grove Church Road, North Brook Number Three School Road, and Sam Houser Road, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
Sometime between July 25th and August 1st someone stole the battery from a church bus belonging to Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The bus was located in the parking lot of the church, the sheriff's office said.
On August 2, deputies took a report of two truck batteries and batteries from two farm tractors stolen from a location in the 7400 block of Reeps Grove Church Road.
On August 3, a report was filed from the 1900 block of North Brook Number Three School Road in connection with seven batteries that were stolen from two trucks on the property, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies are investigating the theft of batteries from two trucks at Houser Transport on Sam Houser Road. The thefts are believed to have occurred at night, the sheriff's office said.
