LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing woman.
Toasha Nicole Rice, 27, was last seen by relatives on May 26 when she left her residence with another woman in a black four-door car. Toasha is also known as Nikki Green by some friends and on Facebook.
Family members have attempted to contact Rice on her cellphone but it appears to be turned off. The Sheriff's Office also says Rice's debit and credit cards have not been used since her disappearance.
She is on medication but is not believed to have her medicine with her.
Toasha is a white female with blue eyes and reddish-brown hair. She is about 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 140 pounds.
Detectives have followed up on all leads, but have come up short. A K-9 team recently searched a wooded area of Sorrells Baxter and Eaker Roads in the western part of Lincoln County, but no signs of Rice were found.
"We have followed every lead received and have involved Cleveland County Sheriff's Office in the investigation who also used the NC SBI to assist them. This was due to a tip that was followed up on that led to a Cleveland County residence. It was later found not to be a valid tip. We are going to back track our investigation to make sure we have not missed anything. We want closure for Nikki's children and other family members. We need someone to give good information to get a break in this case." Lt. Tim Johnson said.
Anyone with information about the woman's whereabouts is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 704-732-9050, the Lincoln County Communications Center at 704-735-8202 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
