CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Fire Department says a gas line rupture Wednesday morning put a halt to productivity at nearby businesses.

Wednesday morning, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a ruptured gas line at a construction site in the 3500 block of David Cox Road.

Officials say the University area construction site is near a daycare, which was evacuated as a precaution. The construction site was also evacuated.

Charlotte Fire says crews were unable to detect any dangerous readings at the site, but the odor was traced back to the adjacent restaurant.

No injuries have been reported.
