CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Eleven people were treated for minor injuries after a strange odor forced a flight to return to Charlotte Douglas Monday night.

The U.S. Airways flight from Charlotte to Frankfurt, Germany, turned around and returned to the Queen City about an hour into the flight Monday night, officials say, due to a strange odor on the plane.

Officials say four people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while another seven were treated on scene.

All of the 143 passengers on board were placed on another flight.

Authorities have not yet commented on what the odor may have been.
