CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Providence Day School in Charlotte has hired a new head of its swimming program.

Kristina Bond will head the Chargers in the upcoming season. She graduated from Queen University with a degree in elementary education and has recently coached middle and high school students at SwimMac Carolina. Bond also recently finished her first season coaching the Providence Downs South Marlins during the summer league swimming season where she led the team to their first undefeated season and All-Star Meet Championship. She coached at Porter Ridge High School last season.

Alecia Payne was also recently hired at Providence Day as an assistant coach. She has many honors including being named a College Swim Coaches of America Scholar All-American. She's also taught at SwimMac and Porter Ridge, as well as the YMCA.
