CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Following a tough 28-27 loss to Butler High School on August 29, the Mallard Creek High School Mavericks dropped from the USA TODAY Super 25 prep football poll. The Mavericks entered their contest with the Bulldogs ranked number 11 after starting the season in the top 10.

Preseason number one Bishop Gorman High School remains at the top of the Super 25, and the rest of the top five includes St. John Bosco (CA), St. Thomas Aquinas (FL), Allen High School (TX), and Booker T. Washington (FL).
