CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- This weekend will be much cooler than normal. The average high is 88 this time of the year, but the afternoon temperatures will only reach the mid to upper-70s Saturday and Sunday.
With the cooler temps comes an increasing chance for rain.
The First Warn Storm Team's Larry Sprinkle says the rain will be heavy at times over the weekend, and we'll even see a few thunderstorms.
Some of the heaviest rain will be Saturday, leading to the potential for some flash flooding across the region. Showers should continue into the evening Saturday, with the storm chance around 70-percent.
Look for a cloudy and cooler Sunday, with highs only in the low to mid-70s.
Monday will be a mostly cloudy day with temperatures returning to the low 80s. Rain chances are down to around 40-percent during the afternoon.
