CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A MEDIC ambulance was involved in a traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon.

MEDIC officials tell NBC Charlotte that a vehicle side-swiped the ambulance near the intersection of South Boulevard and Tyvola Road.

No one was injured, and officials say the cause of the crash is unknown.

The ambulance was transporting a non-emergency patient at the time of the collision, and a second unit responded to safely transport the patient to their destination.
