MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. -- There’s a lot going on in the form of roadway projects this week across the county.
Starting Monday night, detours will be in place as crews take down a sign over I-485 near Pineville.
The inner loop will be closed starting at 9 Monday evening at mile marker 64.
You can also expect rolling roadblocks beginning around midnight, with things returning to normal at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
And on Johnston Road at I-485, crews will close one of two lanes in both directions, starting at 9 p.m. They'll be working on the fly-over-bridge there.
Things should be back to normal for the morning rush.
And, if you travel along Independence Boulevard, watch out! Concrete barriers are going up along that busy roadway.
The barriers will force people living along some side streets to find another route.
The barriers stretch from Albemarle Road to Wallace Lane.
The work is part of a $51 million project.
For the next two weeks, expect lane closures along Independence between Albemarle Road and Wallace Lane from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Crews will start with the eastbound side.
