Teen dead after motorcycle crash ejected her into traffic

Deadly motorcycle vs. pickup crash just south of Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a teenager was killed riding in the passenger seat of a motorcycle that crashed into a pickup truck.

Adam Matthew Taylor was driving his motorcycle with a passenger 18-year-old Heaven Gordon when he lost control and traveled left of the center lane.

Taylor was hit by a pickup truck when he drove into oncoming traffic. The truck was driven by 60-year-old Donald Gardner, police say.

According to the SCHP, when the motorcycle crashed, Gordon was ejected from the bike into oncoming traffic where she was struck by a truck. She died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Police say Taylor was not wearing a helmet, it is not clear whether Gordon was. 

Taylor was transported to the hospital. The passenger traveling on his motorcycle was killed.

According to SCHP, 60-year-old Leann Gardner was also riding in the pickup truck. Both were wearing seatbelts and were not injured. 

The accident occurred on Neely Store Road near Reservation Road, about 1.7 miles south of Rock Hill.
