DENVER, CO -- A female school bus driver was killed in a wreck near Denver International Airport on Sunday.
Seventeen to 20 passengers, both students and coaches, were taken to area hospitals.
Denver Health officials told 9NEWS they have five patients in their care -- two are in critical condition, two are in serious condition and one person is in fair condition. Five patients were also taken to University Hospital. It's unclear what other hospitals the injured passages were transported to.
A booster club official told 9NEWS this was a Legacy High School football bus. He also said there were three buses traveling when this one went off the embankment.
No names have been released at this time.
Denver Police said via Twitter right after the wreck that there were "several transported in critical condition."
The Level 4 east approach is still closed due to the wreck, according to the DIA Twitter. Drivers are encouraged to use the West terminal for passenger pick up.
