WADESBORO, N.C. -- Wadesboro police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday evening on Salisbury Street.

Two people were shot, both of which succumbed to their injuries. The victims are identified as 25-year-old Jerry Thomas Rorie and 24-year-old Marcus Antonio Allen.

Wadesboro Police say the shooting is gang-related, saying the shooting involved the Bloods and the Crips.

The Wadesboro Police Chief says a gang from Orchard Street confronted the rival gang at a home on Salisbury Street when someone pulled a firearm and began shooting.

One of the victims ran to a nearby store where he collapsed.

Both victims were from rival gangs, officials say.

Police are questioning people of interest and looking at possible leads.

No arrests have been made.

These are the first murders of 2013.

In 2012, there were a total of three murders in Wadesboro, one of which was gang related and remains unsolved.
