SAN FRANCISCO, California -- A spectacular work of art will light up San Francisco's Bay Bridge for two years - starting Tuesday.
About 25,000 white LED lights cover 1.8 miles of the western span of the bridge. The Bay Lights display is being billed as the world's largest LED light sculpture.
The lights will transform into a moving sculpture from dusk to 2 a.m. for the next two years, never repeating the same pattern.
The $8 million project was funded by private donations from some big names in the technology world.
