GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Two firefighters suffered minor injuries related to the heat after battling a trash fire in Gaston County on Sunday.
A trash fire started at the State Line Scarp Metal on York Highway around 3:30 p.m. It took two hours for firefighters to get the fire under control.
Two firefighters suffered heat related injuries. One was transported to the hospital for precautionary measures.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Crowders Mountain Fire & Rescue.
