CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Authorities say three people have been transported to the hospital following a ceiling collapse at a motel.
Just at 2 p.m., emergency first responders were dispatched to the Capri Motel in the 4200 block of Wilkinson Boulevard for a reported building collapse.
NBC Charlotte's crew on the scene says a ceiling collapsed at the Capri Motel, and three people, one female adult, one male adult and a child between the ages of 1 and 2, were taken to the hospital.
A CMPD officer on the scene says drywall fell onto the bed, on top of the room's occupants.
MEDIC says all three people suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Code Enforcement officials are on the scene working to determine the structural stability of the building.
