ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A mystery man bought a $200,000 winning ticket in the Color of Money scratch off game last week at Elliot's Exxon on Cherry Road.
What makes the win special though is that the same man bought another $200,000 winning ticket last September at the Mr. Express gas station on Ebenezer Road -- less than a mile away from the Exxon.
The winning game that time was also the Color of Money.
As is his right in South Carolina, the winner asked lottery officials not to release his name.
Stephanie Korn is a cashier at Elliot's Exxon and described the winner's reaction Thursday night, saying she knew him but was also not allowed to reveal his name.
"He just came in and said, 'I just won $200,000.' He wasn't jumping up and down. I would have been jumping up and down screaming," Korn said.
At Mr. Express, clerk Ray Grand said the station would get a check for 2% of the $200,000 for selling the winning ticket.
"It's exciting. Very good, you know," Grand said.
There are six major prizes in the Color of Money game and the mystery man has now won two of them.
Asked if she ever played that game, customer Tammi DeDeaux said, "I will now!"
