CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A strong cold front moved into the area Tuesday morning bringing spotty showers.

The bigger story is the much cooler air moving in behind this front. The rain chances is about 40 percent this morning. Temperatures dropped to the upper 40s this morning.

Tuesday afternoon the rain will be moving out early with clearing skies by lunchtime. Temperatures then will struggle to get much into the low 50s.

Tuesday night will be under clear skies and northwest winds temperatures will plummet down to near 32° by Wednesday morning.

The rest of the week is going to be dry and cool with daytime highs in the mid-50s and morning lows in the 30s.

The only chance of rain might come from a quick moving low that will develop off the Carolina coast. That system though will likely stay pretty far to our east.
