CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NewsChannel 36 chief meteorologist Brad Panovich and his wife gave birth to their second child Thursday morning in a most memorable way.
Brad's wife, Tammy, went into labor at the couple's home Thursday morning and gave birth to baby girl Kinley at 7:10 a.m. on the couple's living room floor.
"This morning my wife wakes up in labor at about 5:45, and by 7:00 I'm calling 911 to come to my house because the baby is coming right now," Panovich said.
The couple's neighbor, a nurse, helped deliver the baby girl before paramedics even arrived.
"Baby comes out crying, everything's fine, and then Charlotte Fire Department medic walks in the door and it was kind of one of those things where I think they thought we were in labor, but they didn't realize how far along it was until they came in the door," he added. "[The medic] was as surprised as I was. I'm like, 'the baby is already here.'"
Tammy was schedule to deliver the baby on August 27. She woke up early Thursday with morning sickness and aches and pains.
It's the couples' second child. Kinley has already met older brother Kyler.
"My wife's first pregnancy was picture perfect," Panovich said.
This one, though, was quite different.
"They are doing great now. We are resting comfortably," Panovich said from CMC Pineville Thursday morning. "This is going to be a story we are going to remember forever."
