INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. -- Middle school students are caught on tape vandalizing a school and brutally attacking Canada geese.

Police are still trying to find some of the suspects, while an animal rescue group works to save the animals.
Jennifer Gordon loves birds and they love her. Mr. Fizzy follows her everywhere.

As the founder of Carolina Waterfowl Rescue, Gordon is used to caring for injured birds, but she says what happened to one goose now in her care, is like nothing she's ever seen before.
“They found Wilma, she was lying on the grass bleeding profusely,” she says.

Wilma was found, apparently beaten, at Charlotte's Kennedy Charter School near where vandals also destroyed the school's buses.
Gordon says there was a lot of damage.

“Every bit of it was blown out, windows all over the ground.”

Police say it was students from a nearby middle school.
And worse, surveillance video shows the teens brutally attacking three geese, including Wilma.

“One of the boys had a two by four and they show him hitting her with it and a couple of other boys had bricks and they were throwing them at her,” she says, horrified.
She wasn't sure Wilma was going to make it. Every bone in the bird’s leg was broken.

“She was beaten severely.”
Wilma was protecting her nest at the time, it too was destroyed.

“To me that just has to be some kind of evil in somebody that can do that to any animal.”
The two other geese were hurt but are doing much better now, and are recovering among friends.

So far police are not releasing the surveillance video. They have identified three of the five suspects.
