CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The sun will hang around most of today before giving way to the chance of rain later this evening.
Today's forecast will be sunny and warm for the afternoon with clouds increasing by evening. High temperatures will be in the low 60s, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
The rain isn't expected to move into the area until around 8 p.m. The chance for rain tonight is at 80 percent.
On Wednesday a strong cold front moves in from the west with another round of heavy rain. Highs will only be in the low 50s with the chance of some mountain snow late Wednesday, Larry Sprinkle said.
Thursday the clouds will clear out and the sun will return, but temperatures will be cooler with highs in the low to mid-50s.
A blast of cold air is expected to move through the Charlotte region this weekend, providing the chance for snow.
