CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Fans love the Super Bowl for the snacks, the commercials and even for a little football.
What’s better than combining two of the three?
A group of Charlotte residents banded together to make a 30-second ad for Doritos’ “Crash the Super Bowl” contest, in which people can submit their own commercials.
Submissions came in from across the globe and they’ve been narrowed down to 24 semifinalists. This includes a commercial from two Charlotte guys who produced “Kickball Cowboy.” Todd Dack and Josh Fahey tell the story of a young man who feels inspirted by the boldness of Doritos and quits his job to live his dream.

The top five finalists out of thousands of entries will be announced in early January. Two of those will air during Super Bowl XLVIII.
The winners also score a $1 million cash prize at the chace to work on the set of “Marvel’s the Avengers: Age of Ultron."
