CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It’s that time of year when pot holes are cropping up all over local roads.

The city of Charlotte is busy doing repairs, but some area residents say it's just not enough.

The city says they're working on fixing as many as possible.

"They occur because water seeps in the pavement and it freezes,” said Linda Durret of Charlotte DOT. “It causes the pavement to heave up, then cars run over it, it buckles and it cracks."

Some residents say they've noticed less pot holes this year thanks to those DOT crews, and perhaps Mother Nature.

"They're very much aware of what roads, what conditions they're in and which one need repair,” said one Charlotte resident.
