CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Emmy Award-winning performer and comedian John Oliver is in Charlotte this weekend to offer up a few laughs at the Comedy Zone.
Oliver has been a correspondent with the Comedy Central show 'The Daily Show' with host John Stewart since 2006.
"The Queen City. I love the sound of that already. I could not feel any more at home," said Oliver, who was born in England.
With the 2012 election season in full gear, Oliver said there is plenty of comedic political material.
"I have fun with all of them (politicians), really. There's not a day that goes buy that I'm not thankful Herman Cain ran for president," Oliver joked. "It was a lot of fun."
Oliver's performances will be Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. at the Comedy Zone.
