GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- It's a new school year and a new school building for some lucky kids.
Stuart W. Cramer High School in Gaston County is the only new high school in the state.
The school will be open to only 9th and 10th graders this year, then add a grade each year following.
NBC Charlotte toured the school last week and got a peak at the school’s dining area that looks more like a café than a school lunchroom.
There’s also a media center with smart boards and continuous news coverage from all the major networks.
The school also has welding room for students interested in that career path. But perhaps one of the most exciting features is the school’s 1,500 seat auditorium.
"We have a great catwalk and the lighting is incredible,” said Principal Audrey Devine
