CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It appears few Charlotteans are rushing to witness the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, in person.

Mann Travel , a travel agency on Park Road, hasn’t assisted any customers in planning a trip to the Russian city, according to an agent.

A representative for A.A.A. Carolinas says it’s seen similar disinterest by its members.

Concerns of terrorist attacks have plagued the winter games.

Perhaps the largest Charlotte-based group going to Sochi is a team of dozens from NBC News Channel, an affiliate news service which provides content to NBC stations and partners around the globe.  NBC Charlotte, WCNC-TV, is sending its own team to cover local athletes competing in the winter games.
