WASHINGTON -- Crews were putting on the finishing touches Tuesday night for the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

All around the Lincoln Memorial barricades and fences were being put up, chairs were placed in front, and work was being done on the stage where President Obama and former Presidents Clinton and Carter will speak.

The excitement is thick in Washington and some people who will attend Wednesday came Tuesday night for a preview.

"Some of our children have never left the city of Palmdale so the fact they are going to have an opportunity not only to be in Washington D.C. but to see the President, we are ecstatic," said Gwen Cole, whose youth group traveled from California.

Jeff Miller is with Special Forces based in Fort Bragg.  He's in training Wednesday so he won't be able to attend, but he had to bike to the Memorial to get a look.

"We were pretty tired.  It's a pretty good ride and we were exhausted.  You can kind of feel the energy.  I felt kind of excited, I started looking around and I said, 'Wow, this is pretty awesome,'" he said.

Wednesday's program will start around 11 a.m.
