No threat found, evacuation lifted at Hickory Ridge H.S.

HARRISBURG, N.C. -- Hickory Ridge High School in Cabarrus County was briefly evacuated Monday morning due to a report of a suspicious package on campus.

Cabarrus County authorities said the high school was evacuated just before 8 a.m. after a reported unattended package was discovered on campus.

Emergency crews were called to investigate the situation and cleared the campus after about an hour.

Authorities said an unattended package was a briefcase near a parking lot on campus.

During the evacuation, all students and faculty were moved to the football field, according to officials.

There were no reported injuries.
