CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- “Crossing Lines” is a new drama series on NBC Charlotte. Former NYPD detective Carl Hickman (William Fichtner) is called out of reclusive retirement by his old friend Detective Maj. Louis Daniel (Marc Lavoine) to work with the crime-solving team of the International Criminal Court to find a serial killer who is leaving women's bodies all over Europe.

The killer is a piece of work and more.

They determine that the guy is short, but no one can figure out the connection between the killings in England and France. The team is also stumped by the actual identities of the victims, because the killer mutilates the fingers to obliterate fingerprints. The team also fails to find a match through dental records.

Hickman has a lot of problems. His hand was mangled on the job in New York, leaving him in constant pain and requiring regular doses of morphine, to which he's now addicted. He's also left with very little use of his hand, making it all but impossible for him to fire a gun. He doesn't think he's fit to be a cop anymore, but the old instincts inevitably kick in

Handpicked from police departments around the world, the other team members all have special skills that contribute to solving the crime, but of course, Hickman is the guy who puts it all together.

This morning on Larry's Look, William Fichtner talked to Larry about his career and the new NBC series. Fichtner also mentioned his love of NASCAR and how much he enjoyed racing. Larry actually invited him down to the October race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
