CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Can you imagine visiting every one of America’s National Parks? For Charlotte’s Goldstein Family, it’s a reality.
Bill, his wife, Alisa, and their teenage sons have seen 43 of the nation’s national parks and plan to see four more this summer – Theodore Roosevelt, Isle Royale, Voyageurs and Acadia national parks. Luke is 15 and Winston is 14 and both really enjoy exploring all the parks.
The family will drive 6,000 miles in two weeks to see all four. By the end of the year they plan to add the two national parks in Hawaii – Hawai’I Volcanoes and Haleakala – as well as the National Park of American Samoa in the Pacific Ocean, which Goldstein says is close to New Zealand.
The family will visit eight national parks throughout Alaska in the summer of 2014 to finish off the challenge
All four were guests on Larry’s Look this morning and talked about their amazing experiences and some of the interesting challenges they faced.
They definitely love the whole process of their quest to reach the goal of 59 parks before the two sons turn 18!
