CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A group of local students are on their way to Alabama Tuesday to show off their rocketry skills.
NBC Charlotte was there as they left Tuesday morning from Victory Christian Center School. They'll be competing in Huntsville at a rocket competition supervised by NASA.
One of their recent launches is a nine-foot rocket called a “cinder”; it goes about 3,000-feet in the air. The cinder is actually smaller than the one the students will use in the competition.
If the students finish in the top 10, team members will be eligible for college scholarships.
NBC Charlotte will let you know how they do.
