WICHITA, Kansas -- It took Dave Hill 16 hours to decorate his truck with 850 Christmas lights.
The lights were stuck on with magnets, all with the purpose of bringing attention to his suicide prevention charity. In doing so, however, he was ticketed $300 by police, who called it a safety issue.
Despite the fine, Hill told kwch.com he plans to leave the lights on.
He says he started his organization in 1998 after having a conversation with a complete stranger that prevented her from commiting suicide.
