CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. -- A 19-year-old Shelby man is lucky to be alive after he was shot in the head during a home invasion robbery last Saturday.

Cleveland County Sheriff's Deputies say he put up his hand to block the bullet and the ring on his finger deflected the bullet.

He still got a skull fracture, but he lived to tell the tale.

"That's very lucky, anytime you get shot in the head chances are you're gonna die, to survive it and be out of the hospital, that individual is very very lucky," said Captain Joel Shores.

Deputies have identified two of the three men who allegedly committed the robbery at the victim's College Avenue apartment.

Thomas Oliver, 27, and 19-year-old Tedrick Huskey are wanted men, investigators say they are members of the United Bloods Gang.

"We want them off the streets really bad, obviously they shot one person, they probably feel they can shoot anyone and get by with it, till we get them off the street," said Shores.

Deputies are asking anyone with information to call the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office at 704-484-4888.
