CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in the neck during an attempted robbery just outside uptown Wednesday night.

According to officers, the attack happened near the intersection of North Tryon Street and Ashby Street just before 10 p.m. 

Police briefly blocked the intersection to investigate the scene. They reopened the intersection late Wednesday night.

The man was stabbed in the neck during an attempted robbery, according to police.

No arrests have been made and police are still searching for the suspect.
