MARSHVILLE, N.C. – According to Police, two men were taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after a man started shooting at Union Grill on Highway 74.
"It's a place that rents out for parties," said Marshville Chief of Police Carl Webber.
"It apparently started inside and then continued outside."
Investigators said 150 people were at the one-story-blue-concrete building for a birthday party when a man started shooting.
"One (victim) was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte with a gunshot wound to the head and the other had a gun shot would to the hand,"said Chief Webber.
The man, a 30-year-old from Monroe, with the head wound was in critical condition. The other man, a 21-year-old from Polkton, was shot in the head, treated and released. Police said they plan to speak to that man again about his part in the fight and shooting.
Chief Webber also said the man who was wounded in the hand was the one shooting. No arrests have been made as they continue to investigate.
