GASTONIA, N.C. -- Another major Hollywood production is shooting in our area.

This one is a TV pilot from the same production company that does the award winning Showtime series Homeland.

The boys at the downtown barber shop have seen a lot. Roy Hullett is 82; he’s born and raised in Gastonia. He has run the shop just across from City Hall since 1971.

“We’ve been enjoying watching them this morning, getting ready,” he expressed, “They're filming a movie over there, Twentieth Century Fox.”

It’s actually a TV show. Gastonia is doubling as Sleepy Hollow, a fictional New England town.

Downtown Gastonia can be a little sleepy at times, and business owners are glad to see the production in town.

“I just think it’s awesome; the fact is they're bringing something from the west coast to the east coast. It’s given a livelihood to downtown. I live in this downtown and sometimes it will be quiet,” said J.D. Elmore who runs the Art Station.

Phyllis Grant lives in town and said, “I think it brings us recognition that we haven’t had, maybe new blood, new industry, new business.”

They're hoping show business could mean more business.

Sources close to the show say the state tax incentives and the look of North Carolina are the reason they like shooting here.

We’ll find out in May if the show gets picked up and will actually air.
