CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The new airport commission is getting down to business for the on-going expansion of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
The commission outlined a billion dollars worth of upgrades. The 13-members of the newly formed commission were sworn on Thursday.
After nominating Robert Stolz as chairman, the commission's current director, Jerry Orr, highlighted the long-list of expansion projects with details and decisions the commission will have to make -- despite a court injunction keeping them from actually managing operations at the Charlotte airport.
A five-member oversight committee also observed the first meeting. The city attorney and city manager Ron Carlee were also invited to weigh in.
