Police: Man arrested in east Charlotte shooting death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a man in connection to a deadly shooting that happened Thursday morning.

Police charged 34-year-old Jairus Tyrone Henley in the shooting death of  Zhonton Zhavet Berry whose body was found in an apartment off Idlewild Road North in east Charlotte.

Police were able to identify Henley as a suspect and after interviewing him. Detectives later charged him with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Henley was taken into custody and being held at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
