A teen in northern Kentucky is ordered not to use the word "bingo".

It all started when the teen walked into a bingo hall filled with elderly women and yelled the word.

“They just looked at me, then looked back down,” Austin Whaley, the “bingo-offender” recalled.

A police officer in the hall jumped into action, grabbing the teen and putting him in a patrol car.

The officer issued a citation that reads "violator caused alarm to patrons."

When the teen went to court, the judge didn't believe the charge.

“He's a good guy,” Whaley said of the charge, “I'm glad that he... I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the charge was crazy. I'm glad he was really cool about it.”

The judge ordered the teen to stay away from the hall and don't yell out "bingo".

If he complies, the judge says he'll clear the teen's record.
