CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- If you’re looking to attend a home game at UNC Charlotte for the team’s inaugural season, you’ll have to wait in line.
The university is taking names of fans who want to come cheer on the 49ers but don’t yet have tickets. The first game is August 31st against Campbell University.
“It’s going to be a madhouse,” said university spokesman Thomas Whitestone.
"Seeing that excitement from the community and the support for the program, that’s been outstanding, ” he said.
There are no single seats left for any home games, he said. The university is asking fans to contact them to get on a distribution list in the event tickets from opposing teams become available. Not only have seats sold, but so have the team’s FSL’s or 49ers Seat Licenses.
Those licenses range in price from $1,000 to $2,500. There are fewer than 100 available, according to Whitestone.
"It’s exciting that the whole community is ready to watch us play. I’m excited, said Thomas La Bianca, a freshman center from Porter Ridge High School in Indian Trail.
"That’ll feel great having all my family there and all of the people who’ve been with me since I was little. I do it all for them,” he said.
Whitestone is asking that ticket holders get parking passes in advance of the season opener in order to make traffic run smoothly. Those passes are available online.
