CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An upscale SouthPark restaurant will be closing its doors later this month.

Zink, located at 4310 Sharon Road, will shut down on February 24, the restaurant’s ownership group announced Monday.

The American food restaurant opened in 2004 with an uptown location but had to move to SouthPark in July 2010 to make room for Fifth Third Bank headquarters.

"Although we are saddened by the closing, we were able to work with our landlord on ending the lease so that we could move forward with new opportunities in the Carolinas. Zink has been a great restaurant and friend to many Charlotteans; in fact, our recent Restaurant Week produced some of our strongest sales ever," said Tom Sasser, the owner of Harper’s Restaurant Group.

The group owns seven restaurants across the Carolinas, including Upstream, Harper’s and Mimosa Grill in Charlotte.
