CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Members of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce took over uptown Charlotte Friday afternoon, performing an impromptu flash mob at the EpiCentre.

About 15 members of the chamber staff danced to the song 'Wobble' as the West Charlotte High School band performed in the main open area at the Epicentre right at noon.

"This has been in the works for about a week or so," said Director of Media Relations Natalie Dick.

The appreciator event for Chamber of Commerce members included a Mardis Gras-themed lunch, but no one knew the flash mob would break out or that the band would perform.

Dick says the staff's slogan for the year is "Outrageous Operations," and the group practiced the flash mob on Thursday.

The event comes before the Parade of Beads Mardi Gras celebration that will benefit local children's charities.
