CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- For over 40 years, Sesame Street has been part of the lives of millions--on PBS.

Since 1980 the show has toured the world as Sesame Street Live.

The first Sesame Street Live opened at the Metropolitan Sports Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, September 1980.

It played that Christmas for four weeks at Madison Square Garden, and has been a popular production ever since. It is the longest running stage tour for children.

The whole crew is in town this weekend at Bojangles Coliseum as they present Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music. Everybody's favorite characters will be on stage, including Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, The Count, Oscar, and of course---Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Both Cookie Monster and Elmo were in our studios for Larry's Look this morning. They were joined by Jerry DuMars, who's the performance director of the show.

Jerry talked about the new additions to the cast plus all the great music and the interactive parts of the show.  Of course, Elmo and Cookie Monster made it a fun morning for everyone, with all their crazy antics!
