GASTONIA, N.C. -- Good Will Publishers has was founded 75 years and has been a major part of Gastonia and the Carolinas since then.
They publish and distribute value-oriented and religious books that are Judeo-Christian in nature. The name Good Will actually describes its mission, that is to spread Good Will in every community.
They publish special books for elementary schools that help to develop good character. The business community makes these beautifully illustrated volumes possible for kids to have.
Their Family Business Services division offers a public relations program to business owner. They reach out to newlyweds and their parents as well as those couples celebrating special wedding anniversaries. Special volumes have been developed for each group and local business leaders sponsor the program.
Another division, The Family Heritage Company works with local funeral homes in designing, publishing and distributing volumes created to offer comfort, consolation and hope to grieving families. Community-minded citizens sensitive to the needs of these families sponsor the Heritage Company volumes.
In 1938 E.F. Gallagher and his son, E.F. “Bud” Gallagher, Jr. started a direct sales company distributing bibles under the name of Good Will Distributors. They gradually expanded their operation until in the 1950’s they had become the largest distributor of bibles in the country with sales organizations in every region.
