CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Darrell Waltrip is a 3-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, the winner of 84 NASCAR Cup Series races, and had 271 top-five finishes in his career.
He competed four different decades, (1972–2000), and still holds many NASCAR records, more than a decade after his retirement as an active driver.
Waltrip was named one of NASCAR’S “50 Greatest Drivers” in 1998, inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2003, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2005, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2012.
He's now has a very successful career as a TV analyst and race commentator. On Larry's Look this morning, Waltrip joined us to talk about his amazing career plus he had some ideas about the future of NASCAR and how stock car racing can be improved.
He even spoke about the way he handles the "urge" to race again!
Something else Darrell spoke about was a very "sweet" promotion---M&M'S giveaway of 1,000,000 bags if Kyle Busch wins the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.
They want to both celebrate Busch's accomplishment of making the Chase, and add a little additional excitement to the pursuit.
