SAN ANTONIO -- A security-camera video goes viral and gets two East Texas police officers fired.
The video allegedly shows a female inmate being pushed, dragged and beaten by two officers in Jasper, Texas. At one point, the camera shows one of the men taking her by the head and slaming it against a counter top.
The woman was identified as Keyarika Diggles, 25. She claims the officers beat hear because she took too long on the phone trying to collect bail money for an unpaid traffic ticket.
The mayor of Jasper called for a special meeting on Monday. The city council voted to fire both officers. The case is now being turned over to the D.A. for possible criminal charges against the two men.
Jasper made national headlines in 1998 when a black man was chained to a pick-up truck and dragged to his death by three white men.
