CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Another Belk Bowl is in the books with the the Cincinnati Bearcats claiming victory over Duke 48-34.
The game was exciting for both Duke and Cincinnati, but it wasn't just fans who enjoyed the big game, area restaurants and hotels say bowl game equals a big boom in business.
At the Midnight Diner, there were lines out the door Thursday.
"It was just people all day long. I mean, were on a wait list at some point," said waitress Dana Slawter.
Slawter said it was a good day for tips.
"It just went by very quick. We made very good money yesterday."
She said most customers were in town for the Belk Bowl.
At Amelie's uptown, assistant manager Brandon Graham is comparing the day to another big Charlotte event.
"I would compare it to maybe the opening night of the DNC," he said.
He also says the buzz isn't just reserved for one night.
"It's a week long process. The teams come in a week prior to the bowl game. They bring so much support, so many people that support them. It's good for business, I think."
