CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The search for a new superintendent for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools continues on Wednesday.
Today, for the first time, the public has a chance to meet the three finalists -- Dr. Kriner Cash, Ann Clark and Dr. Heath Morrison will all appear at public forums Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The trio will rotate among panels in three uptown locations, with four community interviewers at each site.
The seven district members on the school board got to name one panelist each, while the three at-large members named two. Those panelists submitted questions to CMS on Tuesday.
All three will speak at a final public forum at Northwest School of the Arts at 7 p.m. Wednesday. They’ll also do brief media interviews, make school visits that aren’t open to the public and speak at an invitation-only private lunch with political and education officials on Thursday.
The three uptown locations today are: St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Government Center and uptown Main library.
The board will then meet in closed session for another round of interviews with the finalists.
Ellis-Stewart says the board plans to announce its decision by early May.
